Inserted in the privileged landscape of Cordoba mountains, located at the very heart of Argentina, and entirely surrounded by native wildlife, Estancia Puesto Viejo is a private natural reserve that extends for 775 hectares along the Ayampitin River.

Rural and adventure tourism lovers use our ranch as the base from where to take part in various activities. That is why it is called the “Ranch of adventures.

There are activities for every one: either horse rides, trekking, and mountain and waterfall ascent for the boldest or hiking, drives on SUVs 4x4 and trips on horseback for those that are not as daring but who enjoy nature anyway.

There are also farm activities, such as herding, milking, saddling, or baking home-made bread in a wood oven, in which any one can participate.

All guests are served personally by their hosts with the hospitality and warmth that distinguish country people.

During adventure activities you are accompanied by specialized guides, who pass on to you their thorough knowledge, their love for their job and lands, and their respect for the ancient inhabitants of this valley: the Tai Pichin (Nice People in quichua language) group, from the Comechingon indigenous culture, which left its traces in the form of cave, or rupestrian, paintings and rock mortars near the farm.

People who like sunbathing in quiet private sand beaches or diving into clear natural pools among the rocks find our river is the ideal place to rest.

Gourmets can taste delicious dishes prepared in our kitchen, served with fine regional wine and tasty home-made bread that is baked in a clay oven as our ancestors did.

Both children and adults greatly enjoy family introductory hikes and horse rides as well as country and farm activities, including lassoing horses, learning to saddle, feeding rabbits and chicks, and milking goats, always accompanied by specialized guides.

Coming to Puesto Viejo means a different experience for the whole family. Spending some time in our countryhouse is living “an uninterrupted ecoutourism adventure” while learning regional customs, traditions and nature “from the inside.”
