For tea-time, there is mate (hot yerba mate infusion) with fritters or herbal tea with pastries. The mateada is a time to make a pause and share new experiences with new friends.
At dinner, the emphasis is on conventional dishes, such as rabbit a la Provencal, round steak with onions and sauce, Portuguese chicken, pasta, and much more, complemented with delicious desserts and regional wine as usual. A warm service at the light of the candles completes the atmosphere that turns every evening into an ever lasting memory.

A typical country breakfast with mate cocido (yerba mate tea) or coffee with milk, spongy wood-cooked bread slices, home-made jam and butter, and some fruit is the ideal way to begin a day of adventures with lots of energy.
The Kitchen
Puesto Viejo serves delicious home-made dishes to please our guest’s taste. But here food is not only good for the senses but also for the spirit, as mealtime is an opportunity to share stories and experiences, both the hosts’ and the travelers’.
Lunch is the time to taste real creole food: chicken or rabbit al disco (cooked on a plow disk), asado (Argentinian barbecue based on veal and beef), mutton (if in season), and casseroles, all accompanied with salads, desserts, home-made bread, and fine wine.
