San Gregorio River has its source in several springs in the area of Characato, from where it runs discretely until it receives the waters of the mighty Avalos River, a place to practice trout fly-fishing.
Now larger and populated with trout, the river runs through the hills that
receive their name from it. As there are no villages on its banks, it is completely
unpolluted all along and reaches Puesto Viejo as pure as it can be.
Its clear waters are surrounded by huge rocks that create natural pools and
sandy beaches where you can relax under the sun in a beautiful mountain scenery.
With
the help of an all-year-round pleasant microclimate, the river is a powerful
attraction for our guests.
